Magic Carpet Land | A Ravensburger Follow-Up of Karl’s Castle Kids App
✔ iPad + iPhone | kids app for ages 2-6 years
Once again, Ravensburger surprises us with yet another beautiful interactive seek and find app for kids »Magic Carpet Land«, which has unmistakeably been developed by the Artists and Kids app developers of the popular “Karl’s Castle” app. Where kids were once invited to a medieval knight’s Castle, they’re now being taken on a trip to the Orient of the Arabian Nights. Read in our review below, what kids are going to expect there.
Hidden Objects from 1001 Night
In comparison to Karl’s Castle, Magic Carpet Land certainly offers a lot more content. Instead of one big seek and find picture, you now get two different landscapes, which can be explored by kids. The gorgeously designed panoramic landscapes extend over several screen breadths and there are many interactive figures and objects that can be explored and discovered, which will also come to life when they are touched with little witty anecdotes from the ancient orient.
Seek and Find Town and Desert
Both Seek and Find pictures offer lots of variety: the first hidden object landscape shows a typical oriental town including a weekly market, where merchants offer their products whilst flying carpets fly over their heads. By the riverside kids can help to load goods, where of course, a little mishap happens, what will make everyone laugh. The elaborately animated scenes are in general, very humorous.
In the desert landscape are also lots of things waiting to be discovered and explored. At first it seems that the barren desert has little figures and therefore little opportunities for interaction. However, by the time kids have discovered Ali Baba’s treasure cave and played some pranks with the thieves, the seek and find desert turns out to be just as interesting as the town scene.
6 Mini Games
Besides the interactive objects and figures are also 3 mini games in both of the landscapes, which also provide for plenty of alternation. Various search games and a fishing and a thimblerig game can be played directly on the hidden objects scenery and kids love to play these over and over again.

In our YouTube video we show you some excerpts of both seek and find landscapes, of course we’re not going to show you all secrets of the Magic Carpet Land app.
Magic Carpet Land | Kids App Rating
Magic Carpet Land is one of the most beautiful seek and find apps of the past year 2014 and a worthy successor of Karl’s Castle. If your kids have already explored every inch of Karl’s Castle, they can now carry on by exploring the old orient. According to the iTunes description, there are more than 100 possible interactions and 60 different characters, which have all been animated in a funny and loving way. If your kids are familiar with the stories of the 1001 Night, they will come across many scenes of the old tale and these tale references are a special charm of the Magic Carpet Land app, also from an adults point of view.
