Lego surprises us with yet another new and free Lego Star Wars game, under the somewhat unwieldy name of “Lego Star Wars The New Yoda Chronicles” which can be downloaded for iPad, iPhone, Android and Kindle Fire. In order to get attuned, we show you our YouTube video demo, where we play the different types of missions.

First of all, kids get to choose which side, Darth Vader or Yoda, they want to play on and complete the missions with. Sooner or later you end up playing with both sides and you’ll also enjoy the alternation that is offered.

Lego Star Wars Action

The missions are also rich in variety. For each side of the force are plenty of missions to choose from. Two different types of missions can be played with the popular LEGO Star Wars mini-characters. The figures either run through the levels with the help of the blasters and the light-sabers – or they fall into a seemingly bottomless crater, unarmed and have to skilfully maneuver their way past obstacles.

We find the space encounters particularly interesting, where a Lego B-Wing needs to be used to fight against a Star Destroyer and several Tie-Fighter squadrons.

We’re always very fond of free Lego games and as little Star Wars fans, this newcomer certainly knows how to hit our tastebuds. Of course this gameplay has a rather simple design, but the beautiful 3D graphics and the original soundtrack do make this kids app fun to play and provide plenty of Star Wars action for free.

Click-Tip: If you’re looking for more game depth, we recommend you Lego Star Wars – The Complete Saga – a really epic adventure for hours to play. This game is however, only available for iPad, iPhone and all game consoles.
