Just in time for the FIFA football world cup 2014, Cartoon Network releases a football game app for kids, which also includes many special guest players.
In CN Superstar Soccer aren’t national teams playing against each other, but instead four teams of the very popular kids TV series:

● Adventure Time

● Ben 10: Omniverse

● The Amazing world of Gumball

● Regular Show

We have already played the first Copa Toon tournaments and we’ll tell you right away, as to what to expect and how the soccer game is played on the tablets and smartphones.

Soccer game for kids

CN Superstar Soccer is of course, not the next FIFA 14, as the game is lacking in complexity in all respects. The selection of teams is very manageable  with it being 4 teams only – after all, it is possible to pick a team captain within a team i.e. in the Adventure Time team you can either select Jake the dog or Finn as the team captain.

Each team has also got various strengths and weaknesses regarding the speed, shooting accuracy, passing and tackles, what can be seen throughout the game and also adds plenty of variety for kids.

One football match lasts 3 minutes, there’s no referee and most soccer rules aren’t relevant, so that Copa Toon is a clear arcade and action emphasized football game. The navigation is therefore also very simple, having a virtual analog-stick and two action buttons, one for passing and one for shooting and sliding tackles.

Multiplayer mode

If you don’t wish to play against the computer, you can play against other people from all over the world in the online multiplayer mode. We did however, have occasional connection problems and we also don’t like the fact that you can only play against unknown random players.

Cartoon Network’s football game is a fun, fast and also chaotic soccer game for kids. The difficulty level is however a little tricky and cannot be adjusted, which will most likely frustrate younger children. Please use our YouTube video to get some first impressions of the gameplay.
