Morning Kids | parents app which accompanies children through their daily routine, such as teethbrushing
Today we want to introduce an app for parents with kindergarten or preschool kids, who want to give their daily routine a fresh incentive. Morning Kids is a sort of helpful app for parents, which uses multiple tools that merge into a pedagogical concept.
There is a timer, a star rating and a reward system. You start off by setting up a profile for your kids. Kids can choose from a range of really funny and cute characters which are available in this app.
As an example for you, we decided to pick the princess with the name Roswita for our daughter. Roswita likes to take her time in the mornings and usually get’s told off several times, as she needs to get ready for preschool or kindergarten.
With the “Morning Kids” app, you can overcome this trouble in a very useful and step by step way. To do this, you get a series of typical, early morning activities, which are available in this parents app.
Those activities can be individually assembled into a morning plan for your kids.
This doesn’t take long to do so at all, in fact it’s simple and quick, as not only the graphical presentation is outstanding, but also the user interface is brilliantly solved.
The following morning activities are available:
* Toilet | wash and scrub | wash hands | brush teeth
* Breakfast | getting dressed | putting on some lotion | comb the hair
* make the bed | pack the school bag
Of course we’re only picking activities which our fictive Roswita doesn’t like very much, and where she’s usually taking her time with and is rather inattentive with. That way, we can take a closer look at some special features too.
Firstly, Roswita shall come to eat her breakfast in piece, which has already been made. It would be best for kids to start this activity by themselves by simply pressing the button. The timer will usually start automatically then, not a countdown or anything like that, just a simple timekeeper. The app knows hows to differentiate the activities for logical reasons, which is also why the timer will not measure the time during breakfast. After breakfast however, kids are allowed to stop the timer anyway and get their reward from the reward system, which are usually gold coins, obviously as Roswita is a princess after all.
The next activity is teethbrushing. Now is the time for the timer to get interesting. A lot of parents are looking for a teethbrushing app and this app is exactly this, as Morning Kids offers this function.
This time the timer gets an additional stop watch function. The longer kids take to brush their teeth, the more coins they’ll receive as a reward.
After brushing their teeth, kids usually get asked to get dressed, of course the routine varies in each individual family, but this way you’ll most certainly won’t get any toothpaste on the fresh clothes.
Whilst kids are getting dressed, the timer changes into a countdown. For those who are slacking – lose coins, or in a reverse sense, those who hurry up will win more coins.
The time also get’s recorded by activities such as, making the bed or packing the school bag. Once this daily routine is done, you get an overall rating and view of the collected coins and also a highscore. Next to the golden coins are also stars which are associated with each activity, which will also fill up more with each day and additionally motivate kids, but can also be defined as a rewarding target.
As this parents app is supposed to be used best by children themselves, the app was therefore safely set up so that kids can’t cheat. Also the iOS device compares and alignes the date, so that gold coins are prevented from being collected more than once a day.
Our fictive Roswita would like to have a new unicorn toy for example, so we promise to get it by the end of the week as a reward. The app will only show a prize cup which will fill itself up within the next 7 days. When the weekend has come, kids even get a little award ceremony in this app and the prize can then be freely defined. Maybe even a small amount of pocket money could be considered, which can also be set up in this app, but you decide how and how much yourself. Perhaps you’re only looking for a teethbrushing app for kids, or a timer which records the time kids take to brush their teeth, well feel free to use this function only then.
There are a lot of successful stories about this app, which we have noticed, as Morning Kids is the only unique and popular one of a kind app, which is available in it’s professional and inviting design.
We would however like to make two wishes: For one, it is not possible to add or set up your own activities, we’d like to have an option for this matter. Also, we’d like the rewarding prize to be attached to a different reward system, e.g. maybe by getting a reward if 100 gold coins have been collected and kids would therefore, not have to wait until the 7 days are over etc.
We’d therefore only wish for more possible options, which are probably not being offered for a reason, to maintain the clear concept and it’s simplicity.
