Wombi Treasures | treasure hunt game app for kids
New iPad and iPhone adventure for kids: Wombi invites kids to a great adventurous treasure hunt in this new kids app.
Kids get the chance to dig, burrow and use a brush. The digging places or rather excarvation places, where all the historical treasures are hid, are spread all over the globe, but treasure hunter Scouty, will help kids by taking them with on an adventurous propeller-driven plane ride.
The kids mission is to find the treasure as soon as they’ve arrived at an excarvation point. All geared up with an old-fashioned detector, a lot of cogs and light bulbs, kids can go on their treasure hunting mission, whilst checking out the surrounded environment. When they get close to a treasure, up to three green light bulbs will light up and basically let kids know the actual position of the treasure.
To give toddlers a chance to find treasures in this treasure hunt app, they get extra help from a red help button, which will mark the treasure with a red cross, so toddlers will know where to start digging too.
Afterwards, the view changes and the second game of this kids app begins. Depending on which digging point you have infront of you, kids will need to use either a shovel, a pickaxe, the brush or the digging pan to reveal the treasure.
It is possible that kids will need to remove all the debris with the pickaxe first, where kids will discover bugs and larvaes, which are hidden underneath. A pair of gloves are available for kids to take care of those. This is quite an interesting feature.
Treasure hunter logbook entry: Thanks to the pickaxe, the rock layer at the destination didn’t make us stay there for too long. Scouty pretended to be busy, when he discovered the numerous ammounts of insects underneath the layer of rocks. So therefore, it was my job to clear the organic matter aside. Fortunately, I had my high rubber gloves. The treasure hunting craze didn’t leave us in disgust. But what a disappointment: This time, we had only found an old tin with the detector. We spent the rest of the day waiting for the plane to arrive. Tomorrow, we’re heading towards South America, so hopefully we’re going to have better luck there.
As soon as the treasure is exposed, it moves to the inventory, where kids can choose a new excarvation place to fly to, where the fun can start all over again. When all 5 treasures have been liftet, you can see the treasures in a small sequence, where they have been exhibited in a museum. The proud Scouty, who represents the kids, will be published in the newspaper at the end too.
This app is basically a sequence of “treasure hunting” (detector) and “treasure digging” (tools). Even if the tasks are always the same, the digging and burrowing is always different. Sometimes one tool is enough, sometimes you may need three different techniques to lift the treasure. There is sand, soil, stones and even snow and ice.
Wombi Treasures is a different kind of gameplay, which is nice for change and makes our variety of kids apps bigger. We have’t yet had any treasure hunting kids apps so far for the iPad and iPhone. Especially the second part of the game is loved by kids, where the treasure hunting is even more fun and entertaining.
We would however like to dwell a bit longer after the digging process is complete. The short presentation of the treasure at the museum is a little short. In the parents area, we find the developers hint, that all found treasures are real and could therefore provide a stimulus for further research. Maybe the museum would be the correct location for the right place and name of the treasures, as without help with the research, it would be far more difficult to look for a found dagger.
Wombi Treasures is a great, adventurous treasure hunting game app for little explorer’s. The app developer’s however, still need to dig for their fifth star themselves.
