Preschool Maze 123 | great app for kindergarten kids
✔ iPad ✔ Android ✔ Kindle Fire
The Preschool Maze is the second maze app for kids, which we want to introduce to you today with all the other GiggleUp games, where one app is prettier than the other. The big difference between the first app and this second app is definitely the graphics and illustrations, which are way better in this second one and also the higher difficulty levels, as the first app was extremely simple and really only suitable for toddlers.
Let’s take a look at the second part of the Maze series and also at the challenges for our Preschool kids.
A Special feature of the GiggleUp apps for kids, has to be the funny and amusing animals and characters, which we have loved straight away. By the way the structure of all three maze apps doesn’t really differentiate. In all three apps are 20 different mazes, which have spread over 4 screens, which means, even when kids are choosing their level, they have to move the character to the right path with their finger.
in this case the main characters are always a boy and a girl, who walk through the mazes together. We had to think of Hansel and Gretel when we saw them for the first time, but the actual fairytale of Hansel and Gretel will only take reference to it in the third maze app.
By the way, here are the links to the other two maze apps by GiggleUp:
* Toddler Maze 123 – toddlers app
* Fairytale Maze 123 – kindergarten kids app
Even if there aren’t any fairytales in this app, kids will still find and discover some of the fairytale characters and motifs again. The mazes have all been designed with lots of alternation, which we’re going to show you on some screenshots of the mazes, so that you can also estimate if the app is challenging enough for your kids.
1. The first maze with the pirates treasure chest is one of the simplest one’s also from the design.
2. The second maze is a lot niftier and a little eerie: only when the kids have rowed past the shiny eyes with their boat, they’ll see who is hiding in the thicket.
3. Sometimes the mazes consist of several parts: the baby penguin needs to be picked up by the parent penguin first, before they can head off to the finishing line.
4. To the rescue! The owl needs help, kids will need to navigate the helicopter through the cloud maze.
Preschool Maze 123 kids app rating
(+) affectionate and cute graphics – really hits our taste buds
(+) difficulty levels from easy to difficult (last level)
(+) in comparison to the previous app: the characters are now animated
(-) some mazes resemble one another (penguin, town)
(-) in comparison to the third app “Fairytale maze 123” this one is a little less nifty and less narrative
(-) less levels (16) than the first one (20)
(-) not available as an iPhone app
Conclusion: This app is a lot more challenging for kids aged 3 year above and is probably more suitable than the first app, however not as good as the third app. Kids love to play with all of the apps alternately though, but should perhaps start off with the third app “Fairytale maze 123”.
