Piano Dust Buster | educational music app for kids
Piano Dust Buster is a great kids app, music app, educational-app for learning to read musical notes, Piano app, and a funny music game for the iPad and iPhone togehter.
This kids app can be used and combined with real instruments (piano, keyboard) or via virtual piano. The rather brilliant recognition of the notes in this app, transfers the kids game on the real instrument into the actual music game. Of course this app has found it’s place by many music teachers worldwide already. But for those who think that this music app is all about classical songs only, is surely wrong.
Next to Mozart and other classical pieces, are many pop songs and kids songs etc. Although these songs are offered as in-app purchases as 10 different packs. In the past, you were obviously able to subscribe with Piano Dust Buster on a monthly payment basis, what we’re not so keen on at all actually. We do find the in-app purchases a better choice compared to subscriptions. One thing’s for sure, you can test and try out the app for absolutely free and if you like you can always buy the songs and packages later on.
We recommend you to get the savings package, which will unlock all songs – 10 packages for $ 15.99, which is a very strange price for the App Store if you’re used to the normal iTunes costs, however, we’re talking about a first-class educational software with many, many songs and i bet many parents will love to makes this small investment.
Back to the actual game. As you’ll see, there are two main modes, which differentiate from one another.
In the mode Germ Attack, all musical notes will fall down onto the correct musical notes on the virtual piano from above, which eases the gameplay for beginners.
The game mode “Staff Master” is really good for learning to read the musical notes. You can see the differences in the pictures below:
Another feature shall not be left unmentioned, is the difference within the individual game mode: of course there is an extra easy pratise mode, where the piece doesn’t continue to play, unless you have pressed the correct keys. In the concert mode, kids get rated with points and a “Groove-meter”, where some awesome encouraging cheers get displayed like a “Woo Hoo”.
We have had many requests of people who asked us if we’d know some apps where kids can learn to read musical notes. Piano Dust Buster is one of them and we can honestly recommend you this app for your kids. Apart from the actual learning aspect, the resolute gran who is absolutely funny, and who is also sweeping away each dust partical after another, which is really hillarious and motivating at once. The wireless connection without any extra supplies, to connect the iPad or iPhone with the piano or keyboard, deserves the biggest round of applause!
Considering the different prices of the contents of Piano Dust Buster, we truely hope that it will not change back to be a subscriptional thing.
