maths app for kids and pupils
Today we want to introduce you to a new Maths app for kids, which is suitable for kids, starting from their elementary school age onwards, where a lot of game fun is guaranteed. The apps is called: “Mathtopia” and at first the app might seem to remind you of an entertaining casual game more than an actual maths app.
By the way, this app can also be used by kids beyond the elementary school age and can also be used for practising the mental and mathematical agility.
This kids app uses the four basic arithmetical operations of Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division. Those can be chosen individually, depending on which one of those subjects, kids will need more practise and help with.
This app is captivating and great fun! Once you’ve started playing, it almost continues to play on it’s own, however, it is advisory to take a look at the tutorial first, before starting to play out of the blue. The tutorial will help you with each step and explain to you with some little yellow notes, how the different game stages work.
As you can see on the screenshot above, it starts of fairly simple by just having to match three tiles, later on you will have to solve the arithmetic problem first before matching the solutions. To help you do this, the answers are shown on the side of the border as buttons. You can either decide to pick the question first and then the answer, or kids can mark the answer and choose many possible arithmetical problems after another, which will fit to the answer.
It’s almost like with the casual games, where you need to gain combos and get rewarded with friendly remarks, but unfortunately not via audio response. At the next stage, kids can remove the solved tasks with a “match 3” gameplay, where new game cubes appear.
The game is separated into many different levels, with a reasonable and sensible rising difficulty level, which will encourage kids to learn maths without over-challenging them.
Math apps which don’t forget the game fun are always worth a recommendation. Mathtopia shines especially for it’s gameplay fun!
The app costs $ 3.99 and is really worth purchasing. Kids will learn maths with fun and entertainment. You could however, download the FREE light version and buy the four basic arithmetical operations via in-app purchase for $ 0.99 for your kids, which would be needed at some point in your kids life.
