Learning mathematics and the time with memory game apps for kids
Recreo creates educational games for kids and the next three memory apps which we will introduce to you, have therefore also been enriched with valuable learning contents.
The apps are about learning the time, additions and multiplications, which are especially suitable for primary school pupils and kids who have just entered school. Both boys and girls can have fun with the great pirate and magic fairies style and design. Parents like the natural wooden design, where the actual game takes place.
The main structure of all three game apps are practically the same, which has the advantage, that kids are already familiar with the apps.
Momentarily, the app “timePairs” is free – which is a great opportunity to get to know the lovely game-app series.
MathPair – learning addition game-app for kids
Between the memory cards and the lovely illustrations, you’ll find some simple addition tasks and solutions all mixed up, which need to be matched together.
We find the combination of pictures and learning-contents remarkable and really well done! The mixture is great fun for kids and isn’t at all boring or tiring to learn maths.
MultiplicationPair – learning app based on multiplications for kids
As the name says already, kids can learn multiplications instead of adding numbers. This is a great opportunity for kids to practice and learn their times tables.
In all three of the games, kids can take themselves as much time as they need, to solve the questions as there is no set time limit. Kids can even challenge the pirate captain Rumbledum, which does however mean it’s a game against time. The seconds which are left after the challenge, can be located on the highscore list as a best time.
TimePairs – learning to read the clock kids app
The third kids app from our learning game series is about learning to read the digital and analog clock. Of course we have some task cards and learning cards with solutions again, which are mixed with other picture cards.
With each analog clock-face comes a digital counterpart, which kids need to find between all of the other cards. You can either choose the 12 hour time count or the 24 hour time count.
Once again, we’ll praise recreo for their goregeous graphical and illustrational work. The illustrations of the memory cards belong to one of the best and nicest ones we have seen so far, in memory apps. We also like the fact, that you can add as many user profiles as you like and this is possible in all three of the game apps too. That way, more kids can play at the same time, practice and learn together and imrpove their highscores.
We do however have one wish of improvement:
The cards turn over too quickly. We remeasured: both cards are unfolded for under a second, which is way too quick but also happens a lot with memory apps too. Why not let the kids decide when they’re ready to turn the cards over again, just like in other board-games?
