Labyrinth 2 | wood mazes kids app for Android, iPad and iPhone
Labyrinth 2 is also known as the best Layrinth app for kids and adults and we are sure to agree on this statement.
Maybe a few of you will still have one of these old wooden Labyrinths at home, which were also known as games of skills, waiting games and mazes.
Most of these tilting Labyrinths have usually only one type of construction field, unless it’s a original Brio Labyrinth, which has additional exercise plates, also with plates that have less holes, which are great for kids to practise and a nice idea.
Of course the Labyrinth 2 app trumps for it’s many different mazes, thereunder a few more challenging ones, which are suitable for adults. The actual age recommendation is 7+ years, at least if you’re going to play the game with all it’s possibilities. You can even add and create your own levels with a level-editor, which you can also share. You could, if you want to, add and download hundreds of more levels or even create as many as you wish.
We have tried to avoid this Labyrinth 2 app for quite some time actually, as it is pretty high priced and also because we didn’t know, if we’d like all of the extras which have been added to this game classic.
These are, Flipper elements and magnets, also different canons which shoot some balls.
We have to admit that at some stages and points, it is a bit too much actually, however, there are also a lot of simple wooden mazes and levels, which surprised us as those are actual original Brio Labyrinths. Check out the top right screenshot, we want to show you a little detail, which makes this labyrinth so special and beautiful. Depending on how you tilt your iPhone or iPad, the wooden walls of the labyrinth changes it’s perspective, including shadows. This is remarkable and makes the app feel like a real wooden labyrinth. Even the sound of the metal balls, which roll over and across the board, sound very realistic and also the way they knock against the walls.
This app has been perfectly and realistically converted. The physics of the ball and the sensitive navigation of the little balls is simple amazing, especially if you have played other Labyrinth apps (which we have), you’ll really see the difference and treasure Labyrinth 2.
All in all, this app leaves a brilliant impression and also comes with a multiplayer mode, which only makes sense if there are enough iPad’s and iPhone’s available. It is possible to play with a maximum of four players at once.
We’re not so keen on the user-interface outside of the levels, which has visibly not had as much improvement as the actual levels and Labyrinths themselves.
Even though we find Labyrinth 2 remarkable, awesome and absolutely fantastic, as it is just an outstandingly good and a “must have app” for kids, we find it hard to give this app it’s final overall rating, as the app costs $ 7.99 for the iPad version and $ 4.99 for the iPhone version and is therefore way too costly.
Nevertheless, this app is being purchased on a regular basis, which is proven on the actual App Store charts. We still find it a little frustrating that there is such a big difference also between the price of the iPad and iPhone version, as we also like to play Tilt-games on both iDevices.
One things sure, Board-game apps and story book apps belong to the more expensive apps for kids and Labyrinth 2 is therefore unfortunately, not an exception.
Most importantly though, it is worth your investment and we can assure you this with a 5 star kids app rating.
