iLuv Drawing People | teaching kids how to draw children and adults
Everyone should know the iLuv Drawing apps for kids, as they are the reference title for apps, which teach children how to draw, with an outstanding technique and a very good value for money too.
The step by step instructions are being narrated by a very friendly voice, even though the app doesn’t necessarily need any voice instructions, as this app is already good enough as it is, you can however, switch the voice output off at any time if you like.
There are already a few of the iLuv app series out on the App Store, although most of them are only available for the iPad and unfortunately not for the iPhone.
Here’s a small list of all the other available iLuv Drawing apps, where kids can learn to draw animals, dinosaurs and monsters etc:
* iLuv Drawing Animals (iPad version only)
* iLuv Drawing Dinosaurs (available for iPad & iPhone)
* iLuv Drawing Monsters (iPad version only)
* iLuv Drawing Santa (available for iPad & iPhone) FREE!
(no longer available on the App Store!)
The most diversified app out of them all has to be the “iLuv Drawing Animals”, which we have introduced to you a while back (read the review here) and it also includes 40 drawing courses.
iLuv Drawing People
Now, let’s take a look at the “iLuv drawing people” version which has a step by step instruction on how to teach kids how to draw adults and children. This app includes 20 instructions all together all around the subject families and kids.
Kids will also learn how to draw a whole family…
…or even a girl during skipping a rope
… or perhaps a boy carrying his school bag
As you can see on the picture with the boy and his stripy shirt, the shoes are not drawn, those are actually stickers, which can also be used and chosen by kids. These are great for adding beautiful details to the picture and also if kids can’t draw small detailed things yet.
You could even play a dress up game with the drawn dolls, by adding stickers, which is a great idea!
The navigation is well thought through and quite easy, apart from the scaling of the stickers. The pages of the step by step template instructions can be skipped and turned over just like a real book, by pressing the arrows on the screen.
On the last page, they are faded out so that kids will know when they’ve finished. This leaves kids with their own drawing. Kids can also pick different backgrounds, thereunder a classroom.
All pictures can be saved in an album and will therefore not be lost somewhere. You could even send your creation via e-mail to either family members or friends.
Hint: To be able to change the color and pen, you’ll need to press on the symbols at the bottom of the page for a little longer than usual. It seems as if the buttons have some kind of a protection, so that we almost thought it was a bug or something. They could have at least done without this for the iPad, as the change between the drawing tools is kind of annoying.
iLuv Drawing People app rating
Just after our favourite iLuv drawing animals app, comes our next favourite iluv drawing people app of the series. Even if the heads of the people are a little too big in a funny way though, kids can still learn the different body proportions with this app.
