How animals see me
interesting iPhone kids app
A highly interesting scientific subject for kids, has to be the way animals see the world. This fact has now been illustrated and shown via animal-vision photos, in an educational iPhone app for kids. Perhaps you’ve already seen one or the other documentary on TV, where special camera filters were used, to show and simulate the different kinds of visions and perspectives of various animals, such as a bee or an eagle. These kind of camera filters were used for this app “How animals see me” – a fantastic educational app idea, by a family man himself.
The structure of this app is optionally like a storybook app or a camera app. The storybook version frames the camera vison area with a lovely animal illustration, so that kids who can’t yet read, have the opportunity to see which animal is looking at them. The standard setup uses the front camera of the iPhone, but if you change the camera mode to the actual main camera, you can also explore the world from an animals kind of perspective.
Certain questions can be investigated by kids, with this great educational app
How do bears see the world with their eyes?
How do panthers see the world with their eyes (at night)?
How do eagles see the world with their eyes?
How do wolves see the world with their eyes?
How do many fishes see the world with their eyes?
How do snakes see the world with their eyes?
How do bats see the world with their eyes?
… and finally, a surprise for you, which we will not disclose.
This educational app for kids is really good for kids, as they have a lot to talk about, explore and compare and are also fascinated by the different perspectives.
One thing we wish for, is a view through a compound eye, which we have seen on a documentary about insects before. Also the matching animals sounds to each perspective, would be very much appreciated.
Even if this app still needs a little polish, but also in times of the iPad and iPad mini, we do wish for an iPad version. We do recommend this app without any reservations. As this app only costs $ 0.99, it also belongs to the inexpensive educational apps for kids.
