Fin Friends | kids app with funny fishes out of clay
Apps or games with clay or clay characters have become really popular and you can find many apps for kids on the App Store, which have this style or are made in that clay-style. We want to introduce you to another clay app for kids: “Fin Friends”, which is about a red fish who obviously lives in the underwater world, which is also completely made out of clay, who needs to rescue tiny little baby fishes and take them to a safer place. Those baby fishes are captured in fishing nets and you automatically come across them whilst swimming along, just as other obstacles which need to be circumvented or else the game is quickly over.
Just now, you’ve probably realised that this game is an “endless runner” gameplay and not just a comfortable kids game app. If you don’t have some good reaction skills and concentration skills, you’re gonna get stuck on either a jellyfish, octopus or a sea mine or even get eaten by a shark etc.
The journey is the destination in this game and the arrival quite frankly – impossible! On your journey, you collect lots of starfishes which, who would have thought, you can spend in a shop, where you can get many extras and also brand new fishes which you can play with, which will most likely trigger a passion for collection by most adults and children. Of course there are also pretty expensive in-app purchases, with which you can skip the patient collecting, but this is surely not acceptable to us.
The graphics are unrivalled and simply awesome, just like the catchy soundtrack of this app, which will quickly get stuck in your head.
As always, everybody has a different opinion to endless runner games, we like to play certain titles of this game genre and kids do too. Fin Friends is also played by kindergarten kids already, but we’d like to recommend this app for kids at the ages of 8+ years, as the difficulty levels are quite hefty and also because of the offered in-app purchases.
The navigation of this app is fairly simple, at least the complexity as such. The finger is on the display, the fish dives up when the finger is released, and dives back down when the finger is back on the display. Whether you want to swim above or underneath an obstacle or objects, is up to you. However, you don’t really get much time to think about it though. It would be really useful for kids, if the speed of the gameplay was slower, or even if the game foresight would be a bit bigger.
Fin Friends belongs to one of the best vertical endless runner games and is also a very cute, adorable and interesting clay app for kids. The difficulty level is set up a little bit too high for our like.
