Find them all: looking for animals
best comprehensive educational app for kids
✔ iPad + iPhone ✔ Android ✔ Kindle Fire | kids app
Today we want to introduce you to a very big and wide-ranging, educational learning app for kids, which you’ll desperately have to try out for free. “Find them all” is a great app for kids, who love animals. Kids will learn so many things about the animals natural environment and other interesting facts about each animal, mixed with some fantastic games, puzzles, animations and many other wonderful interactions.
This is an XXL review for an XXL kids app!
This app is absolutely huge in content and yet easy to understand. Our little helper the sun, makes sure of this and helps kids with the functionality of this kids app, whilst waiting at the top of the right hand side of the screen.
We’ll separate the game into 7 game phases, just to be on the safe side, so you can get a better overview of the whole of this app, as there are some phases of the game which either overlay each other or even merge into one another.
1. The game step by step
At the beginning, all animals are individually introduced via hide and seek game. The little sun, names an animal and shows a little thumbnail inside a thought bubble as a hint. When the animals is found, the kids receive a multifunctional-photo, where all the information about the animal is summarised. These informations can be seen at any time by using the spinning wheel.
A very nice gimmick has to be the nodding heads of the animals, which gives the picture a nice 3D effect.
The animals are all placed on a big panoramic landscape, which can be slided sideways. New landscapes get added bit by bit until the panoramic picture is completely unlocked and the search for animals gets a little bit more demanding.
Each continent has 3 panoramic landscapes, which keep alternating and it makes the gameplay a lot more interesting.
Here’s an attempt to try and get an overview of one of the panoramic landscapes via a screen-shot collage (do try).
2. Take a photo
The first of many rewards is a camera, once the kids have found all the animals. Many more informations about the animals can be unlocked with this camera. The taken pictures won’t get lost, but can be collected and saved in a photo album. The virtual camera also has a zoom function. Hint: If you wish to show your child the basics of using a camera, then you can surely do so with this great kids app. For example, choosing a motive and the allocation of the picture. The app has therefore also been suggested for kids up until the ages of 8 years.
3. Night is falling
The day is ending and the night is falling in. Before it gets really dark, kids will have to collect all of the animals first. The sun will help the kids to count all the animals which have been collected, this way kids also learn to count up to 20.
4. Night time
Of course you can’t manage to collect all animals that quickly and so a new game phase begins, where the rest od the animals need to be found in the complete darkness.
A lamp and the sound of animals will help the kids to find the right animal and also to help them with their orientation. You can also still see the eyes and shadowy outlines of the animals. This is very funny and captivating!
5. Make a jigsaw
The camera now gets a new function, which enables kids to make their own fun animal jigsaws, where they can also choose how many pieces they want for their jigsaw. The longer the iPad or iPhone is shook, the more pieces for the jigsaw you get. From 4 up to 42 pieces are possible, so that all age groups can be at their expense.
6. The photo quiz
Some animals are marked with question marks. If those get photographed, a quiz about animals will start.
The answer options are displayed as a button on the bottom of the screen without any text. You don’t have to be able to read throughout the whole of this app.
The questions are multi-variant and are also suitable and perfect for pre-schoolers.
Even counting gets practised when the sun wants to know how many animals are shown.
7. Crafting with templates
Wow, fantastic! This game really has a lot to show for! If you have taken a lot of photos and found all of the 24 animals, you can create a photo album with your kids and print out some wonderful animal templates, which can be folded and crafted. How wonderful!
“Find them all” is a very remarkable, wide-ranging and lovingly designed kids app, with lots of educational content.
We recommend every single in-app purchase, because one continent is more beautiful than the other. Once kids got used to the environment of the game, it just volunteers itself to purchase the other game continents, which offer more new and interesting fact about other and different animals.
On the bottom of this review you’ll find a quick overview of the different continents and in-app purchases. Don’t worry, if you simply don’t wish to buy any in app purchases, you can always switch them off in the child protected settings of the app. The free version of the game has simple farm animals, but is also unrestrictedly playable. You can NOW also download the FULL VERSION for iPad and iPhone, which is absolutely awesome and costs $ 7.99 on the Apple App Store.
