Feebidu | best magical diamond hunt app for kids
Feebidu is a new kids game for the iPad and iPhone, which enchants a popular and classic arcade-game and creates a magical app for kids. Perhaps you can remember the classic game called Breakout/Arkanoid, where you have to clear up as many stone blocks as you can with only one ball.
Kids will play Feebidu in a similar way, in which they need to collect as many sparkling diamonds with one big pearl.
The navigation is kept quite simple: at the bottom of the screen lies a rolled magical carpet which needs to be moved sideways. The pearl will bounce back and hopefully land on the carpet and not besides it, so it can be bounced back into the air.
As the sparkling diamonds get collected, kids will also be able to collect some other extras. Some diamonds hide letters behind them, which need to be collected or caught with the carpet. Once the letters are collected, they will frame a word at the top of the screen.
We also get to meet butterflies and bees, which don’t necessarily dissapear straight away, but slowly fly away.
The background graphics change throughout each rising level and are also really lovely and beautifully designed. We love them.
The sound and the music of this app is absolutely awesome. We haven’t heard such good, magical and suitable sounds and songs in an kids app for a long time. A lot of app developers save out on important things such as good music and sounds.
Feebidu has another surprise for you, a collecting and rewarding game during the actual game. Where other game classics rather concentrate on highscores etc. kids can use their collected points to buy some nice objects, which they can collect.
Especially at this point, it is worth checking out on the actual magical story, which has yet not been mentioned.
The good fairy has been kidnapped by the time Pirates. Charlie Carpet is distressed! After all, the Good Fairy is his best friend. The evil Captain Rumblerum and his crew have risked everything to ensure their evil plan succeeds. They have destroyed all the buildings and everything beautiful on planet Feebidu. It is up to the kids to save the fairy and to rebuild Feebidu.
The collected gifts will come in handy now. Kids can “buy” buildings and other decorations with virtual currency, which they will need to rebuild Feebidu.
The planet can be freely rotated and also knows the change of day into night. It is also inhabited by small dolls.
Nevertheless, this planet does tend to get a little blurry, where we would also like to make some suggestions of improvement:
* The navigation area on the bottom of the screen could be a little bit bigger. Our magic carpet got stuck a couple of times, because we unnoticably left the area, which was marked red, with our finger. A bit more tolerance over the red line would be appreciated.
* The game functions well without any voice output, does however live on the displayed text. We therefore recommend this app to kids, who can already read, even if the actual game attracts younger kids.
* After every loss, a text overlay shows up, which needs to be removed via click, which does disturb the game fun and flow a little. It would be better to integrate a countdown 3, 2, 1 and carry on.
* We wish for some more collectibles, different flowers, trees or maybe a castle.
Even with our suggestions on improvement, kids love to play Feebidu. A little fine-tuning is always good for a new released app.
