Cars 2–World Grand Prix Read and Race: Disney story book and racing app for kids
There are a lot of apps available on the App Store of the Disney Film Cars 2, some of which have different contents and others with some awesome and unique innovations. If you’re not yet familiar with the Cars 2 kids game “App mates”, or haven’t tried it out yet, then you should definitely take a look at this free iPad app for kids too. You will find a thorough App description with hints and clues, as to how to use this app without the need of special vehicles here:
Today however, we want to show you a less spectacular but therefore innovative picture book app, “Cars 2 – World Grand Prix Read and Race”. As the title says already, this app is not just an interactive picture book, a race game has also been integrated, which is awesome and fun!
I don’t think that we’ll need to tell you much about the story of Cars 2 itself, providing you have seen the kids Disney Movie, then you’ll roughly know what to expect. Although this app is mainly focusing on the race story, all of the agents stuff including their weapons, are not included here.
Side note: Don’t you think that the first Cars film was a lot nicer and better as opposed to this somewhat crazy and wild story of the second one?
Back to the picture book app: Cars 2 – World Grand Prix Read and Race which is completely translated and narrated into many different languages, so if you’re interested in listening or reading this story in another language, you can also use this app for this matter. The other languages which are available are: English, French, Spanish, German, Chinese, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Swedish.
All pages are somehow interactive – not every interaction is very imaginative, but at least there is always something to pressed or to be discovered. However, the number of pages and all the extras are very impressive.
Those cars cannot only be repainted (there are also colours for girls available) but they can be equipped with new rims, spoilers and headlights. Those cars will be saved not only as a picture, but can also be changed at any time as models. Fantastic!
The best part however, has to be the actual race, where kids can drive with their own vehicles in a propper race with other Cars opponents, which take place on three different diversified race tracks, which also appear in the picture book story, like Tokyo at night, Italy and at the home of Lightning McQueen: Radiator Springs!
The cars are navigated via Tilt function, where kids will need to practice a little bit first. We’re not entirely happy with the navigation. We would have prefered a calibration or an alternative control method as a selection.
At least there are three difficulty levels, so that younger kids can try their luck with this racing game and it’s navigation too.
This Cars 2 story book app has surprised us, we wouldn’t have thought that this app would have such a big and wide breadth of really good activities including 3D cars.
So when it came to the end and it’s Racing game, we were pretty chuffed and amazed.
