★ A Charlie Brown Christmas – Storybook app for kids
Charlie Brown is looking for the true Christmas spirit far away from commercialism and finds it in this children’s storybook app, which is based on the Peanuts classic of the year 1969.
The app provides a wonderful and thought-provoking Christmas Story, through which even adults like to scroll through. The in-app purchases refer to the Christmas decorations and are luckily silly and unnecessary.

Pango Christmas – picture book app for toddlers
The picture book apps with the cute racoon Pango are all aimed at toddlers with their short texts and colorful illustrations, just like this Pango Christmas edition. The short stories are all told with a bit of humor – however without being read out via audio response, which we find somewhat disappointing. Mommy and daddy will have to take over that part – which will however, also have a lot of fun with the interactive pictures and stories.

Angry Birds Seasons – Christmas levels
Here they are again – the crazy Angry Birds. We especially like the Seasons edition this Christmas, because there are lots of levels to discover. The highlight: The levels are presented as an advent calendar, if you like, you could open one door each day. The app has been given new contents for the third year round, which is why you can find three different Christmas worlds with 25 levels each. Including all other seasonal and festive levels, the app easily mounts up to several hundreds of levels, which should keep you and your children occupied for the whole winter season.

Rush Hour Holiday – Logic Christmas Game
Rush Hour Holiday is the christmassy and digital version of the boardgame classic Rush Hour by Thinkfun. Of course the app only costs a fraction of the actual boardgame price and is therefore especially suited for getting to know the game better. Just in time for Christmas, the little penguin needs to be moved past all of the presents and to the exit with the sleigh. A really good logic game for the whole family.

SnowJinks – Snowball fight app
Our discovery of the week is a snowballfight app, which is simply awesome and fun. Basically you take part in the snowballfight as either a boy or a girl, on a great 3D setting. Fences and other objects provide plenty of covering from the snowball volley of the neighbours kids. Kids can also collect gold coins and other cool extras such as, icecubes which will freeze all opponents for a while. Warning: Unfortunately, in-app purchases are offered, which can be bought from the gold coins too!

Nighty Night! Winters sleep in the beautiful kids app
Snow is slowly falling and resting on the farm of the Nighty Night kids app and transforms the whole setting into a beautiful wintry landscape. Inside however, kids need to put the animals to bed so they can fall asleep, the snowflakes are still visible if you look outside the window. Just a shame that the app is still offering in-app purchases, despite the high purchase price and not even offering at least one Christmas song.

Little Fox Music Box – childrens songs app
The app with the little Fox is also more of a winter app instead of a Christmas app. You will find wintry landscapes and Christmas decorations in all three scenes, however the songs are less chrismassy. Nevertheless, we really like the atmosphere, which comes from the beautiful illustrations and because of the fact that this app is a must have app, it’s simply a download recommendation all year around.

Chirp Chirp is one really special and awesome, fun game which we really like and just in time for Christmas it offers some wintry landscapes and a christmassy feeling.
