BabyPhone Deluxe | Baby Monitor App for iPhone without the use of Internet Connection
✔iPhone | Baby Monitor app for parents
BabyPhone Deluxe is an approved iPhone Baby Monitor app that is based on phone calls, without needing to be connected to the Internet and it also works well in combination with other smartphones. The app is therefore an interesting alternative to the so-called »Voice-over-IP« Baby monitor apps, that rely on permanent Internet connection.
In our following review, we introduce you to the recently updated Babyphone Deluxe app version 4.
BabyPhone Deluxe is quickly set
The setup is really simple and done fairly quickly, as the BabyPhone Deluxe app only needs to be set up for the iPhone. You basically only need to determine a phone number that the app will call automatically, as soon as the child cries. Once the adjustable volume is exceeded, the app will synthesize a connection to one of the smartphones of your choice, with which you can listen into the child’s bedroom and depending on the situation, you can talk to the child to comfort it, whilst making your way to the child’s bedroom.
New: Since the last iOS 8 update you can just hang up after an alarm, whereupon the app reactivates itself and the monitoring continues.
Advantage: The main advantage of the BabyPhone Deluxe app is, that you only require one iPhone – the receiver can be any kind of phone i.e. an Android smartphone.
Babyphone Duo VoiP app: the alternative in comparison
In comparison to the only just introduced BabyPhone Deluxe App, the Baby Monitor Duo App works with all mobile Apple devices, which means it works with your iPad, iPhone and via WLAN also with the iPod Touch.
If you own two of the mentioned devices and an internet connection is available, the benefits of the modern Baby Monitor Duo app predominates in our eyes, which thanks to Voiceover-IP offers a permanent audio transmission from the child’s bedroom. Even a lasting video transmission is possible, which enables a particularly soothing sleep monitoring.
Biggest Advantage: Permanent audio transmission, optional additional video transmission via WLAN
Disadvantage: Two Apple devices and Internet connection is necessary Here you’ll find our thorough review of the Baby Monitor Duo App.
BabyPhone Deluxe is also being maintained
Although Babyphone Deluxe was published in 2009, it is still constantly being updated and just recently it was adjusted for iOS 8 and for the new display formats of iOS 6 and 6 Plus. Nevertheless, the app has not been equipped with a new modern flat-design in comparison to the Baby Monitor Duo app, which is kind of irrelevant though. I personally like the classic design with the plastic slider bar and buttons more, but this is surely a matter of taste.
BabyPhone Deluxe | Bottom Line
With the last iOS 8 update the BabyPhone deluxe app celebrates it’s new comeback. From it’s range of functions point of view it is still overshadowed by the Babyphone Duo app, for which however, two Apple devices and an internet connection is relevant. If you may not have this constellation available while you’re on holiday some time, then BabyPhone Deluxe will be a reliable, ultra compact and handy travel companion.
Here are the most important advantages and some further features of the updated BabyPhone Deluxe App in an overview:
(+) Only one iPhone needed
(+) Receiver terminal can be any smartphone and even a landline
(+) No Internet needed
(+) Unlimited range
(+) No interference with other Baby monitors
(+) Filter for short abnormal sounds
(+) Automatic dimming of the screen
(+) Optional recording function
Possible disadvantages in comparison to the alternative Baby Monitor Duo App
(-) No permanent audio transmission before the warning call
(-) No optional video transmission
We hope that our overview will help you with your choice, which is why we’re offering you both links of the Baby monitor apps below.
