American Drive-In-King | Your very own Burger Restaurant by Happy Touch
✔ iPad + iPhone | kids app for ages 3+ years
Well that’s a very inventive and awesome idea we haven’t yet come across: Happy Touch probably published one of the first Drive-in restaurant simulation especially for kids. We were able to test the app a week in advance and we spent several hours working as a Burger-assistant in our very own Burger-Restaurant. What we experienced can be read in our review below.
Recently at the Drive-In Counter
First of all, a friendly employee of the Burger Restaurant greets the children and introduces them to workflow at the Drive-In counter. The meals can be picked at the bottom of the screen and are ready to be served without needing preparation. The only thing that needs preparing are the drinks, these can be filled with a soft-drink machine, which holds three different kind of flavours. Already shortly after the introduction, the first customer arrives at the Drive-in.
The offer is displayed in a speech bubble, whereupon the customers obediently wait for their order, which can consist of various burgers, garnish and drinks. Everything is then packed inside a typical burger-bag and handed out to the customers. Of course the customer has to pay afterwards. The money goes straight into the till and also plays another important role: The burger restaurant can be expanded with the generated revenue bit by bit. The first expansion stages are relatively cheap and done in no time. But until kids have actually managed to unlock the great burger palace with outbuildings, advertising signs and children’s playground, a lot of playtime will pass.
Free App including In-App Purchase for Full-Version
The Burger-game can be played for free with a limited range of meals and menus. The in-app purchase for the full-version costs $ 1.99, has been provided with a child-lock and will expand your menu with up to 32 dishes, that’ll provide kids with plenty of alternation.
YouTube Video Demo
In our YouTube preview you’ll get to know the Burger restaurant cook Tim, who will introduce you to the game.
Drive-In King | kids app rating
Kids can now play a junior-boss at their very own Burger Restaurant – and yes, the game is definitely fun and entertaining! Even if the routine mainly stays the same, the various dishes and especially the various customers and their cars will provide for alternation. The different building expansions also motivate and encourage kids to keep playing. The narration is also good and makes the game a lot more personal and friendly.
Nevertheless, we can imagine that the app will most probably come across some criticism from fast food rivals. Perhaps to invalidate those nutritional pedagogical reservations, the serving of salads is rewarded with many points.
Pro’s
(+) Unique on the App Store
(+) Lots of customers with various cars
(+) Audio response
(+) Especially healthy foods are being honored
(+) Motivating restaurant expansions
Con’s
(-) The subject fast food polarizes
Our Conclusion: A brilliant Sales roll-playing game for kids with fair in-app purchase for the full version.
